    Don’t try to change yourself in the blink of an eye. Start patiently. It takes years to get good posture, and there are several exercises to correct it.
    • One of the most important aspects of good posture is your inner control. Imagine that there is a thread stretched from your nape to your tailbone, and never forget about it. 
    • Such a visualization technique helps to set your mind toward good posture.
    • Your body weight should be distributed evenly on both legs. Always bring in your stomach. If you can’t do it properly, try an exercise called “the vacuum”: lie down, or stand on all fours, exhale harshly through your mouth, and hold your breath. Simultaneously bring in your stomach as much as possible, and count 15 seconds. Relax your muscles very carefully. Repeat this exercise again.
    • Whatever you do, your back should be straight. To have the correct position, you need to stand for a couple of minutes pressing your nape, calves, buttocks, and shoulder blades against the wall. Such an exercise helps you feel the balance of your body.
    • The most effective exercise for good posture is swimming because it involves all of the back, abs, and hand muscles. The whole muscular system becomes stronger, and, as a result, your back becomes straighter.
    • You should also remember about your posture behind the wheel. Adjust your seat to make it more comfortable to push the pedals without bending: you should be almost glued to your seat with your neck, nape, and back.

    • It’s good to be a “star” in bed, but this pose isn’t good for your posture. You’d better sleep on your side with slightly bent knees as this pose protects your spine from deformation and extra tension. What is more, such a position helps avoid snoring and makes breathing easier.
    • Yoga classes are really helpful too. Yoga helps our body and each muscle to relax. It’s rather easy to straighten one’s spine with the help of such exercises. Moreover, you’ll become healthier and happier.
    • Start your day with a straight posture. Stretch like you want to touch the ceiling, and then make your back take the correct position. The proper start of your day is the first step to good posture.
    • If you have the opportunity to cook while sitting, try not to lean over the table.
    • If you spend most of your day on your feet, try to sit every 2 hours for a few minutes to let your back have some rest.
    • Try to sit on the edge of a chair, and relax your back. Did you manage to do it? It’s unlikely as it’s a great method of self-control.
    • The best distance between an ironing board and your elbow is 4-6 inches (10-15 cm), so try to follow this rule.
    • A good way to relax your back is a cat stretch: stand on your knees and palms, and arch your back trying to touch your chest with your chin. Then bend your back vice versa: pull your shoulder blades together, and raise up your chin. Repeat this exercise 10 times, and you’ll feel the relief.
    • Put your smartphone in front of your eyes instead of tilting your head. It’ll reduce the tension on your cervical spine.
    • You can also take 2 bags instead of one, and divide the weight equally when you go shopping.
    • You don’t have to spend all day wearing high heels. Take comfortable shoes with you, and wear them whenever possible.
    • A life hack from models: carry books on your head. Take one wide book, and try to walk carrying it. Practice regularly to improve your posture and gait.
    • We usually carry our bags on one and the same shoulder. It causes spine deformation, so remember to change shoulders from time to time.
    • Set a repeating reminder of “Keep your back straight” on your phone.
    • Don’t be shy. One of the reasons why we stoop is that we’re not confident. It’s easier to hide in a shell and never attract attention.
    • But if you have a majestic straight posture and absolute confidence, people won’t notice your old bag, the fact that you think you are too tall, or whatever else you might imagine.
